GPC believes intercessory prayer and the interconnectedness of the body of the church are essential to our Christian life. The pastors, church staff, elders, and other designated volunteers are here to pray with you over any blessings and concerns. Everything you tell them will be kept confidential unless you give your permission to share. They will share only the parts that you approve.
Prayer Requests and the GPC Prayer Network
- Call the Church Office: Contact the church office at 301-948-9418. The office staff keep all requests confidential and then pass them directly to the pastors. If you wish to speak to a pastor yourself, the staff will transfer your call to Pastor Mary Beth Lawrence.
- Email a Prayer Request: Send your request to office@gpchurch.org. The office staff will keep these requests confidential and forward them to Pastors. Revs Vaughn and Hodges.
- Respond to the Prayer Chain Outreach: Elder Doreen Turczyn-Toles is contacting those listed in the church directory. She will call, text, or email you using that information. (If you need to update your contact information, notify the office or use our website form.) Feel free to respond to her by the method that is best for you. She keeps all requests confidential unless you give her permission to share them with the pastors or to post them on GPC’s electronic Prayer Network.

You will receive a Welcome email with instructions from the Prayer Network Administrator. Save these instructions for further use. We recommend that you add the Prayer Network email address to your Contacts.

How to join
- Be brief and to the point; choose your wording carefully to make the specific need clear.
- Respect others’ privacy. Obtain the permission of others to use their name and/or provide details before posting a prayer request about them. If they don’t want you to use their name, your alternative could be to provide their relationship to you (e.g., family member, friend, neighbor, co-worker, etc.).
- Share only enough information to enable us to pray intelligently. You can trust that the Lord knows the full details.

In order to read, send, and receive prayer requests on the GPC Prayer Network, you must be a group member.
- Do not discuss requests with others or forward messages outside the Prayer Network.
- Do not forward messages to the email prayer chain list that are not prayer requests.
